Patrick is responsible for the global strategic business activities of Samsung SDS, the $10b IT services arm of Samsung Group where he used to lead the AI division for three years. Previously he was the CEO of algorithmica technologies that focusses on machine learning for the oil and gas sector. Prior to that, he was assistant professor of applied mathematics at Jacobs University in Germany, as well as a researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Okezue Bell

Okezue Bell is an entrepreneur and student. He is the founder and director of Fidutam, a project using blockchain technology to set up funded bank accounts for unbanked and low-income communities. The company has won over $150,000 in awards. Aside from Fidutam, Okezue has conducted research at Harvard Medical School and the MIT Media Lab. In 2022, he was named a Research Science Institute (RSI) Scholar, which is considered the most prestigious research honor for high school students in the world.

Okezue’s seminal research was on developing the WeArm, low-cost and high-functioning prosthetic arm. His device has over $80,000 in support and won the International BioGENEius Grand Prize. Most recently, she built an Emerging Technologies Initiative at NetHope, a consortium of 60+ global NGOs working with 50+ partners on issues such as human rights, education, and climate resilience and adaptation for vulnerable communities. The Initiative brings together a global community of humanitarians, technologists, and policymakers to collaborate on using data, AI, and other technologies for social impact. Earlier in her career, Leila launched technology products serving over 1B people globally, led international communications and partnerships, and built a global Learning & Development program at Microsoft. Leila was selected as Top 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021.
